About IIT-JEE

The Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), now known as the Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE-Advanced), is an entrance examination conducted annually in India. It is one of the most prestigious exams for admission into undergraduate programs in engineering and architecture at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and some other premier institutes like the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), and the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE).

The examination is highly competitive and is divided into two stages:

1. JEE-Main: This is the first stage of the exam. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and serves as the screening test for admissions to various undergraduate engineering programs across India, including the NITs (National Institutes of Technology) and other centrally funded technical institutions. The JEE-Main is held multiple times a year, allowing candidates to improve their scores.

2. JEE-Advanced: Only candidates who clear the JEE-Main and rank among the top performers are eligible to appear for JEE-Advanced. It is considered one of the toughest examinations in the world. JEE-Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. Successful candidates in JEE-Advanced are eligible for admission to the prestigious IITs and other institutes mentioned above.
